Entry-level position responsible for assisting with the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and general upkeep of the Park Creek wastewater treatment plant under the direction of the Treatment Plant Supervisor. Training will be provided, with responsibilities increasing as the employee develops the necessary knowledge and skills.
High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Prior experience in wastewater treatment, mechanical maintenance, laboratory testing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
The employee will be expected to work toward obtaining the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) operator certifications. The position requires ability to learn mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, chemical, and biological concepts, operate and maintain treatment equipment, perform laboratory testing, maintain accurate records, and follow all Authority and regulatory requirements.
The position operates seven days a week and requires participation in emergency call-in responsibilities. The employee must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in environments that may include raw sewage, sludge, confined spaces, elevated spaces, and moving mechanical equipment. CPR and First Aid certification will be required after six months of employment.
