Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) position is to participate in and oversee the wound care of Residents as prescribed by the attending physician, consistent with accepted standards of care and within the scope of RN/LVN training and licensure.

At times, this position will be responsible to provide care directly to the Resident and/or supervise the care provided by a Certified Nursing Assistant to ensure the Resident's well-being.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing School and a current, valid license in the applicable State.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a long-term or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of current wound care treatments and dressings.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Essential Functions:

• Observe, assess, treat, and document Residents' wounds according to the Resident Care Management System, regulations, and standards.
• Ensure preventative measures are utilized to prevent pressure ulcers.
• Assist in collecting and documenting data for Quality Assurance reports.
• Consult with the Director of Nurses/Attending Physician regarding changes in Residents' wounds/conditions.
• Transcribe and execute physicians' orders.
• Implement care plans to promote wound healing.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Secure equipment and supplies for wound care.
• Notify attending physicians and families of significant changes in Residents' wounds or conditions, and document this communication.
• Participate in assigning duties and ensure appropriate clinical care by CNA staff.
• Document and report incidents as per policies and regulations.
• Function as a team leader and role model.
• Ensure a safe environment for Residents.
• Participate in the Nurse Manager on-call rotation.
• Review policies related to Abuse Prevention and enforce responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring patient/resident safety and performing duties assigned by supervisors.
