Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) for The Villa at Mountain View in Dallas, TX. The primary duty is to oversee wound care for Residents as prescribed by the physician, within the scope of RN/LVN licensure.

The role requires nursing graduation, a current Texas license, and preferred experience in long-term care, with strong wound care knowledge and English communication. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

• Observe, assess, treat, and document Residents' wounds per the clinical care plan.
• Ensure prevention of pressure ulcers through proactive care.
• Assist in data collection for Quality Assurance and reporting.
• Consult with Director of Nurses/Attending Physician on wound care changes.
• Receive, transcribe, and implement physicians' orders.
• Implement care plans to promote wound healing and safety.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Identify and procure wound care equipment and supplies.
• Notify attending physician and family of significant changes; document in medical record.
• May assign duties and supervise CNA staff for proper care delivery.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) position is to participate in and oversee the wound care of Residents as prescribed by the attending physician, consistent with accepted standards of care and within the scope of RN/LVN training and licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing School and a current and valid license in the applicable State.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a long-term or health care setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of current wound care treatments and dressings.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Essential Functions

• Observe, assess, treat, and documents Residents wounds according to the Resident Care Management System Skin, Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Ensures that preventative measures are utilized to prevent the development of pressure ulcers.
• Assists in the collection and documentation of data for Quality Assurance including the weekly Pressure/Non-Pressure Trending Reports.
• Consults with Director of Nurses/Attending Physician regarding changes in Residents wounds/condition.
• Receives transcribes and executes physicians' orders.
• Ensures implementation of care plans to promote wound healing.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Identifies and secures equipment and supplies for wound care.
• Ensures that each Resident's attending physician and family or responsible party is promptly notified of any significant change in the Resident's wound/ condition and this notification is documented in the medical record.
• May participate in assigning duties and ensures the delivery of appropriate clinical care by the CNA staff.
• Ensures that each Resident's accident or incident is fully documented and reported in accordance with Cantex Senior Communities Clinical Policies and Procedures and state/federal guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
• Ensures a safe environment for Resident population.
• May participate in the Nurse Manager On call rotation.
• Has reviewed Cantex Senior Communities Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
