Job summary

Life Care Center of Puyallup is seeking a skilled LPN Treatment Nurse for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri, 7:30am–4:00pm) to join a dynamic clinical team in a sub-acute and long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include delivering quality nursing care, wound care management, and collaborating with CNAs to ensure proper skin care. Washington-licensed LPN with CPR is required; prior geriatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active LPN license in good standing in Washington.
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• CPR certification required on hire and maintained.
• Prior wound care experience preferred.
• One year geriatric nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to patients.
• Identify, manage, and treat skin disorders and lesions.
• Collaborate with CNAs on positioning and skin care.
• Identify condition changes and report to DON.
• Deliver courteous patient service and maintain professionalism.
• Assist in patient evacuation when needed.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Use sound judgment and critical thinking.
• Communicate within an interdisciplinary team.
• Perform duties requiring standing, walking, lifting, and flexibility; use English proficiently.

Position Summary

The LPN Treatment Nurse provides primary skin care to patients under the medical direction and supervision of patients’ attending physicians and registered nurse, as indicated, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

• Attended an accredited LPN program
• Currently licensed/registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license in good standing throughout employment.
• Prior wound care experience preferred
• One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.

• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training

Essential Functions

• Knowledgeably and competently deliver quality nursing care to patients
• Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders and primary/secondary lesions
• Work with nursing team to educate CNAs as to proper positioning, training, and skin care
• Identify changes in patients’ conditions and report changes to DON
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
