Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a general operator/inspector role in our North American operations. The position covers duties of Inspector, Machine Operator 2 and Laborer as required, with responsibilities for loading, inventory, and yard maintenance.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience or training. The role emphasizes safety and teamwork within a unionized, essential workplace environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of Inspector, Machine Operator 2 and Laborer as required.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Performs inventory counts.
• Assist in loading railroad cars, trucks and trams.
• Cleanup of yard, processing systems, or other areas as required.
• Assist as helper in other duties as assigned.
• Change treatment charges; inspect materials for conformance; inspect binders and cables; moves and stores charges.
• Participate in and support the safety program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of Inspector, Machine Operator 2 and Laborer positions as required
• Operate material handling equipment
• Performs inventory counts
• Assist in loading of railroad cars, trucks and trams

• Assist as helper in other duties as may be assigned
• Change treatment charges. Identify and inspect materials for conformance, inspect binders and cables, moves and store charges.
• Participates and contributes to company safety program
