Job summary

Ideal candidates have at least a year of treating experience with chemicals, a safety-oriented mindset, and pesticide/license certifications preferred; PASS respiratory and medical exams may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: One year treating experience preferred; must have experience with chemicals.
• License/Certification: Pesticide applicators license preferred; Boiler Operating License preferred; PIE Certified.

Responsibilities

• Operate treating plant systems and maintain production levels.
• Follow prescribed operating procedures for boiler, vessels, and waste systems.
• Perform inspector, machine operator, and laborer duties as required.
• Adhere to safety program and participate in safety procedures.
• Complete related duties as assigned.

This role performs operational work related to daily work instructions, inspection, grading, treatment and materials. Operates the treating plant safely and proficiently.

Principal Responsibilities

• Operate and control systems by prescribed operating procedures, including, but not limited to the following major systems:
  • Boiler and pressure vessels, vacuum and condensate recovery systems, preservative mix, transfer and storage systems, hazardous and solid waste processing and storage, charge transfer tables and emergency response equipment
• Perform all duties of inspector, machine operator (2) and laborer positions as required
• Operate all aspects of treating at or above target production levels
• Performs security duties
• Participates and contributes to company safety program
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: One year treating experience preferred, must have experience working with chemicals
• License/Certification: Pesticide applicators license preferred; Boiler Operating License preferred, PIE Certified

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Required plant safety orientation
• Pass the state pesticide certification exam
• Respiratory training and pass the medical exam and fit test (clean shaved face may be required)
• Solid knowledge of all federal and state regulations related to the treating department
• Solid knowledge of quality control standards related to the treating department
• Solid knowledge of customer specifications
• Complete all required "Continuous Education Units" to keep pesticide certification
• Solid knowledge on hazardous waste regulations
• Performs other related duties as assigned
