Job summary

MFS, a global investment management firm, offers a 6‑month co‑op program beginning January 13, 2027 and ending June 25, 2027. The internship runs Monday–Friday, 35–40 hours per week, and targets undergraduates enrolled in a college co‑op program.

You will learn risk management, internal controls, and fund accounting concepts while supporting assignments across treasury, accounting oversight, SOC reviews, and vendor payments.

Qualifications

• Interest in financial services, mutual funds, and compliance.
• Willingness to learn internal control frameworks and risk assessment processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with SOX (Section 302) helpful.
• Familiarity with SOC1/SOC2 helpful.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply internal control techniques with respect to Fund Treasury processes.
• Identify key control points of systems or processes and document procedures.
• Evaluate and document business processes focusing on risks and controls.
• Maintain internal control documentation in DIVA database.
• Coordinate payment instructions to external vendors to ensure timely payments.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring fund expenses and distributions.
• Support risk and internal control projects across departments.
