Job summary

County of Nevada seeks an Assistant Treasurer Tax Collector to lead daily Treasury and Property Tax operations in a diverse county team. You will oversee a multi-hundred-million treasury pool and annual property tax collections, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance with relevant laws.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of professional accounting/finance experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in banking, cash management and tax collection key to the role.
• Strong accounting and financial analysis capabilities required.
• Knowledge of state and federal rules related to finance and taxation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills expected.
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate and retain staff.
• Ability to collaborate with public/private officials and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily treasury and property tax operations and related activities.
• Oversee budgeting, accounting, cash management, investing and reconciliations.
• Provide oversight of property tax extensions and tax program administration.
• Partner with elected official to develop strategic vision and drive services.
