Job summary

State Street is seeking an experienced auditor for the Global Treasury Audit team in Boston. The role focuses on independent assurance over design and operating effectiveness of controls supporting Treasury activities, including governance, risk management, and reporting to the board.

The candidate will perform controls testing, document workpapers, apply professional skepticism, and leverage data analytics to identify anomalies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in internal audit, risk assurance, or controls testing.
• Hands-on experience executing controls testing, including design assessment and operating effectiveness.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to articulate risks to senior management.
• Advanced degree or professional designation (CPA, CIA, CFA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute risk-based audit work per Corporate Audit methodology and IIA standards.
• Identify key risks and control objectives; assess control design and operating effectiveness.
• Plan and perform controls testing, including walkthroughs, sampling, evidence inspection, reperformance.
• Document procedures, evidence, results and conclusions in regulator-ready workpapers.
• Apply professional skepticism to assess evidence quality and challenge explanations.
• Use data analytics to support testing and identify anomalies.
• Communicate testing status, concerns and scope changes to audit management with analysis and solutions.
• Build relationships across lines of defense while maintaining independence and objectivity.
• Stay current on Global Treasury risks, regulatory expectations and industry practices.
