Job summary

Complete Care Management is seeking a part-time TRD Therapeutic Recreation Assistant in Colchester, CT. This role involves leading and participating in activities, coordinating group programs, and tailoring plans to resident assessments.

The ideal candidate has either a TRD degree or is willing to obtain one, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Weekend rotation is required, and prior long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• TRD degree preferred but not required.
• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
• Ability to lead group programs.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and the public.
• Knowledge of elderly ill and/or disabled.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in activities like games, crafts, exercise sessions, and other group programs.
• Provide one-on-one activities or modifications as needed based on individual resident assessments and care plans.
• Assist with activity planning and scheduling.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff about activities and programs.
