Join to apply for the Traveling Wind Turbine Technician II role at Vestas

This position is remote requiring 100% travel, hiring applicants from anywhere within the United States. It is an hourly paid position with potential earnings over $100,000 per year, including travel, overtime, and other supplemental earnings.

Do you enjoy travel and want to develop your electrical and mechanical skills while working on exciting projects? Consider joining our Resource Team to travel across North America, supporting service sites and construction projects with skilled technicians and field support personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Travel 100% of the time, with overtime and flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Promote safety by modeling safe acts, encouraging others, and adhering to safety standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism, focusing on safety and quality, and assist with or perform basic quality audits.
  • Perform wind turbine maintenance and installation tasks, operate tools, and document work in our systems such as SAP.
  • Gather information on turbine performance, diagnose issues, and implement solutions up to an intermediate level.
  • Follow structured troubleshooting processes, use diagnostic tools, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Support team collaboration, mentor junior staff, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Interface professionally with customers, handle inquiries, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: Post-secondary education or at least 2 years of wind industry experience, including electrical skills and reading electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency with power tools, diagnostic equipment, and understanding of safety protocols.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.
  • Attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate across levels.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Willingness to embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.
  • Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Participation in training courses, including high-angle rescue, is required.
