Job summary

Destructable Inc is seeking a hands-on Wind Turbine Decommissioning Technician to assist in dismantling, sorting, and transporting turbine components at various project sites across the United States.

The role requires working at heights, operating tools and rigging equipment, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Travel up to 100% is expected, with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills valued.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in wind energy, heavy construction, industrial demolition, or related field.
• OSHA 10/30 certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders and towers, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% to project sites across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist dismantling, sorting, and decommissioning wind turbine components for recycling, repurposing, or disposal.
• Handle, transport, and dispose of materials per safety guidelines.
• Identify and separate metals, electronics, fiberglass, and other recyclables.
• Operate hand and power tools, torque wrenches, rigging gear, and basic welding/cutting equipment.
• Follow rigging, lifting, and crane-signal procedures for large components.
• Maintain tools and work areas for safety and efficiency.
• Assist in inspection and documentation of dismantled parts.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and electrical isolation before removal.
• Comply with OSHA and company safety regulations on sites.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and hazard assessments.
• Climb turbine towers and work at heights up to 300+ feet with fall protection.
• Wear PPE at all times (harnesses, hard hats, eye protection).
• Support recycling processes to meet environmental compliance.
