Job summary

Fabcon Precast is seeking general labor personnel to support welding on precast concrete panels. You will work within a welding crew and follow foreperson guidance to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities include handling materials, operating equipment safely, and adhering to established safety procedures. Some travel and varying work conditions may apply, with required construction knowledge and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor tasks to weld precast concrete panels.
• Take direction from the foreperson on detail or erection crew tasks.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by foreperson.
• Use materials and supplies efficiently.
• Handle equipment responsibly and maintain safety procedures.

Job description

To provide general construction labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a welding crew to erect precast concrete panels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to weld precast concrete panels
• Takes work direction from detail or erection crew foreperson
• May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson
• Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner
• Handles equipment in a responsible manner
• Follows established safety procedures and policies

Other Required Qualifications

• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times
• Ability to work from heights, including but not limited to ladders and aerial work platforms
• Ability to obtain membership to a local union
• General knowledge of construction practices
• Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
• Ability to travel extensively, up to 50% or more, including occasional overnight travel, and to work hours outside the standard schedule as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer.

Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
