Job summary

North Pittsburgh Oral Surgery is seeking a Surgical Assistant to support our clinical team across four offices in western Pennsylvania, with travel between North Hills, Cranberry Twp, Natrona Heights and New Castle. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, handing instruments, and managing patient records with DSN EMR.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Familiarity with DSN or other electronic medical record systems.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• X-Ray Certification
• CPR Certification

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during oral surgical procedures in a clinical setting.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Set up sterile fields and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records using DSN and other electronic systems.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery.
• Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures.
• Provide post-operative care and instructions to patients.
