As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Role Summary

The Superintendent will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. This role is responsible for managing materials, equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture, demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO on projects.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage project site care, custody, and control.
  • Lead meetings, including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project meetings and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure proper documentation, quality standards, and project closeout activities.
  • Support project pursuits, negotiations, and staffing.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage complex projects from start to finish, including safety, scheduling, production, and quality.
  • Identify and manage project risks, problems, and solutions.
  • Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, scheduling, and construction technology tools.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, trades, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and foster relationships for future work.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years construction experience; 3+ years supervision experience.
  • Experience with Lean principles preferred.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 pounds, travel, and work non-traditional hours.
  • Activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, and other physical activities.
