Role Summary

The Superintendent will plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. Responsibilities include managing materials and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, all aligned with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Lead safety culture and create awareness for an injury-free environment; investigate incidents and retrain staff as needed.
• Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
• Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or parts of larger projects.
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinate and manage project site care, custody, and control.
• Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
• Participate in project progress and OAC meetings.
• Create and adjust project schedules with the Project Manager.
• Monitor project budgets and costs using management systems.
• Communicate key project information to stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and logs.
• Approve and record cost information, and complete reports.
• Evaluate progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Manage material and equipment needs.
• Support procurement processes.
• Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
• Manage timecard approval for accurate reporting.
• Ensure quality compliance and supervise closeout activities.
• Participate in project pursuit and planning processes.
• Establish field staffing and manage project changes and negotiations.
• Participate in project reviews and buyout meetings.
• Understand and apply contractual terms.
• Identify and recruit top talent and promote diversity and inclusion.

Additional Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects from start to finish, including safety, scheduling, and quality.
• Identify and manage project risks.
• Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of construction management fundamentals, trades, and labor productivity.
• Ability to manage budgets, build relationships, and apply Lean principles.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum 5 years construction experience, including 3 years of field supervision.
• Experience with Lean principles is a plus.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various conditions.
• May require travel and non-traditional hours.
