T.W. Frierson Contractor, Inc. is hiring a Traveling Superintendent to plan, direct, and coordinate commercial construction projects within a 100-mile radius of Nashville.

The role emphasizes safety, client relationships, and adherence to budget and schedule. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in commercial construction, with 5+ years as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent, and a willingness to travel locally and out of state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with 5+ years as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
• Experience leading $5M+ commercial projects.
• Strong organizational, time-management and decision-making skills.
• Supervises up to 30 employees including Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Field Engineer, and Job Clerk.
• Willingness to travel locally and out of state.
• OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of commercial construction projects on site.
• Strengthen relationships with clientele and subcontractors.
• Refine project goals and schedules; coordinate with design teams.
• Establish and maintain project goals and success criteria.
• Coordinate work with crafts and subcontractors; monitor productivity and performance.
• Maintain project budget, schedules, and cost control; update weekly with PM.
• Provide estimating assistance as needed.
• Communicate weekly project schedule updates to subcontractors and owners.
• Review field changes and draft RFIs for PM approval.
• Lead weekly project meetings with stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings and specs are followed; address issues to prevent budget impact.
• Maintain safety rules and correct hazards.
• Document hours and report to HR/Payroll weekly.
• Attend client meetings as required.
• Perform additional assignments as directed.
