Traveling Superintendent - Florida

Location: Tampa, Florida

The Role

The Traveling Superintendent oversees construction operations from planning through completion. They are responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards of workmanship. The role also involves promoting and adhering to the company’s safety program and fostering a safety-oriented culture among all project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
• Experience managing multiple trades and craft personnel.
• Experience with heavy civil and/or complex infrastructure projects is highly desired.
• Experience with Federal, State, or DOT contracts and specifications is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage resources, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines to deliver high-quality projects.
• Strong understanding of structural design, blueprints, and contract documents.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently and lead others.
• Ability to recognize trade skills and weaknesses.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with construction-related technology and software such as Microsoft Office, Project, ProCore, Adobe, etc.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities:

• Project Oversight: Collaborate with Project Managers, lead project teams, coordinate logistics, ensure compliance with specifications and regulations, manage permits, and oversee project closeout and safety plans.
• Subcontractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and craft workers.
• Scheduling: Develop and monitor project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
• Safety: Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Travel: This role requires ongoing travel to various project locations across the United States, often between sites miles apart.

The physical demands include walking uneven terrain, sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other physical activities necessary for construction supervision.
