Job summary

Ameritech Contracting seeks an experienced on-site construction supervisor to oversee all field activities, enforce safety plans, manage subcontractors, and ensure adherence to contract documents. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to coordinate schedules and resources.

Applicants should have 7+ years in construction, be familiar with Procore, and be willing to obtain necessary certifications. Travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• OSHA certification or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• USACE CQM cert - preferred or willing to obtain
• USACE EM385 - preferred or willing to obtain
• CPR & First Aid certification

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work and budget adherence
• Coordinate and inspect subcontractor work for compliance with contract documents
• Maintain daily site records with labor, materials, inspections, delays and weather
• Support schedules, progress reports, and look-ahead planning
• Lead tool talks and communicate plans to subs and crews
• Ensure site safety and enforce accident prevention plans
• Assist with project closeout and turnover procedures

Overview

Supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work and adherence to the budget meet all requirements of the contract documents. Must be willing to travel!

Essential Functions Of The Position

• Review and analyze all project construction documents including but not limited to drawings, specifications, amendments, accident prevention plan, quality control plan, and scope of work.
• Coordinate and inspect sub-contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents including drawings, specifications, submittals, quality control, and safety requirements.
• Identify issues, RFI needs, and field changes promptly with practical solutions.
• Oversee equipment utilization, material deliveries, and manpower allocation.
• Support project closeout, punch list management, and turnover procedures.
• Document daily on-site activities and progress including labor, work performed, inspections, deliveries, delays, weather conditions - with narrative and photos.
• Coordinate and hold regular "tool talk" meetings to ensure project is on schedule and subcontractors understand the project plans and specifications.
• Identify and communicate site safety concerns, conditions, and problems.
• Implement and enforce accident prevention plans.
• Assist with schedule development and updates, progress reports, and look ahead reports.
• Occasionally take on tasks outside the normal scope of your job.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years continuous experience in construction industry or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA certification.
• USACE CQM Cert - preferred or willing to obtain
• USACE EM385 – preferred or willing to obtain.
• CPR & First Aid Certificate
• Experience with Procore desired.
• Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision and exercise discretion and judgment regarding matter of significance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for assigned projects site access.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) lbs.
The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
