This position is with our National Healthcare Division and candidates must be open to 100% travel. Project assignment/location may not be reflected in this posting. Candidates will be eligible for travel incentives.

Role Summary

The Superintendent 2 will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. Responsibilities include managing materials and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, all in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture, demonstrate commitment to injury-free environment, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEOC for small or large projects.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate project site care, custody, and control.
  • Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project meetings and manage project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor project budget and costs using management systems.
  • Communicate key project information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation and logs.
  • Approve and record cost information, complete reports, and evaluate progress.
  • Manage material and equipment needs.
  • Support procurement and approval processes.
  • Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
  • Manage timecard approvals and ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure quality compliance and support project closeouts.
  • Participate in project pursuit, planning, and review meetings.
  • Lead talent recruitment and promote diversity and inclusion policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage fairly complex stand-alone projects from start to finish.
  • Identify and actively manage project risks.
  • Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective communication, presentation, and proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
  • Knowledge of construction management fundamentals, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to build relationships, manage budgets, and understand project documents.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years construction experience and 3+ years supervision.
  • Experience with Lean principles preferred.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to lift 50 pounds; travel may be required.
  • Work may involve extreme conditions and non-traditional hours.
