**This position is with our National Healthcare Division and candidates must be open to 100% travel. Project assignment/location may not be reflected in this posting. Candidates will be eligible for travel incentives.**

Role Summary

The Superintendent 2 will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. This position is responsible for managing materials and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, supporting JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture, demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEOC for small or large projects.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage project site care, custody, and control.
  • Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project meetings and manage project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor project budget and costs using management systems and reports.
  • Communicate key project information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation and logs.
  • Approve and record unit costs, complete reports, and track project progress.
  • Manage material and equipment needs.
  • Support procurement processes and assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
  • Manage timecard approval to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Ensure quality compliance and support project closeouts.
  • Participate in project pursuit, planning, and review meetings.
  • Lead talent recruitment and promote diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage fairly complex projects from start to finish, including scheduling, production, safety, and quality.
  • Identify and manage project risks, problems, and solutions.
  • Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective work performance, communication, presentation, and proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
  • Understanding of construction processes, budgeting, and team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to manage schedules, budgets, and project changes.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years construction experience; 3+ years field supervision; Lean principles experience preferred.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, travel, work in extreme conditions, and non-traditional hours.
