Stout Building Contractors is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead projects on site, with travel to multiple locations. You will work under a Field Director and mentor, maintain schedules, ensure safety, and coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
The role requires 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience, strong MS Office skills, Procore familiarity, and a valid driver’s license.
Are you looking for more than just a job — a place where your ideas matter, your growth is invested in, and you're part of a company that still feels like family? At Stout, we've built a growing construction company without losing sight of where we started.
If that sounds like the kind of team you want to join, we'd love to talk with you.
As a Traveling Superintendent at Stout, you'll take true ownership of your projects — wherever they take you. Backed by a dedicated mentor in the field and a strong team in the office, you'll carry the primary responsibility for project success. Along the way, you'll sharpen your skills, build relationships built on trust, and experience the reward of seeing a project through from start to finish — one that will stand for years to come. At Stout, we work hard to exceed expectations, for our customers and for our people.
We're looking for someone who is driven to win yet humbly confident, with the calm resolve to lead, solve problems, and adjust as conditions change on the ground.
We know traveling for work isn't easy, and it isn't the right fit for everyone. That's why Stout works hard to make life on the road as comfortable as possible:
Success in this role calls for an observant, curious, natural leader — someone who takes time each day to plan thoughtfully and think ahead. You'll often need to use good judgment to make quick calls on the spot, or know when to loop in the team. Sincerity, accountability, and equity should come naturally to you.
The right candidate always advocates for the customer, backed by strong time-management and communication skills.
Because this role travels, you're someone who takes it in stride — comfortable adapting to new project sites, new teams, and new surroundings, and ready to make the most of it.
