Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in industrial construction, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing multiple projects.
  • Must be willing to travel and work in remote locations.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams in high-pressure environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.
  • Proficiency in construction software (ProjectSight, MS Project) and familiarity with design-build project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee field operations across multiple industrial construction projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and Constructable’s quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing field team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and proactively address employee relations matters in coordination with HR and leadership.
  • Ensure all field employees complete required training; provide support and clarification on training content as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all field-related challenges, working closely with Project Managers and site teams to drive timely resolutions.
  • Enforce safety standards and protocols, collaborating with the Director of Safety and Quality to meet compliance and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain overall project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
  • Coordinate allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials across sites to optimize productivity.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between field and office staff and facilitate weekly operations meetings.
  • Promote collaboration between field and office teams and drive continuous improvement in methods and tools.

Position Overview

As a Traveling General Superintendent at Constructable, you will lead and mentor Field Superintendents, overseeing remote industrial construction projects in small cities across the United States.

This pivotal role ensures seamless coordination between field and office operations, driving safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple job sites. Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Operations
  • Lead and oversee field operations across multiple industrial construction projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and Constructable’s quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing field team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and proactively address employee relations matters in coordination with HR and leadership.
  • Ensure all field employees complete required training; provide support and clarification on training content as needed.

Safety & Quality Management

Collaboration & Communication
  • Serve as the primary liaison between field and office staff, ensuring alignment on project objectives and strategies.
  • Facilitate weekly operations meetings to review project progress, address challenges, and plan resource allocation.

Continuous Improvement
  • Implement best practices in construction methods, processes, and technologies to enhance efficiency and performance.
