Buildings By Design, LLC is seeking a Field Superintendent to lead daily field operations on commercial construction projects. You will oversee subcontractors, coordinate with project managers, and represent the company on the ground to keep projects on schedule and compliant with quality and safety standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, building systems knowledge, and effective communication from field to office to ensure on-time, on-spec project delivery.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: An Associate (AS) degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or similar.
• Required: A minimum of three (3) years field supervisory experience at a construction company.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage a rolling three (3) week look-ahead schedule for all trades and project milestones.
• Oversee field execution to ensure work meets company standards for safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to stay on track and within scope.
• Conduct and document required inspections and quality control checks using project management software.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and architects to solve problems in real time.
• Monitor jobsite progress and proactively communicate issues or delays.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Field Superintendent to join our General Contracting team! In this role, you’ll oversee daily field operations on commercial construction projects, ensuring quality execution, schedule adherence, and safety compliance. You’ll lead subcontractors, coordinate with project managers, and represent Buildings By Design on the ground – keeping project running smoothly from start to finish.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: An Associate (AS) degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or similar

Work Experience

• Required: A minimum of three (3) years field supervisory experience at a construction company
• Preferred: A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience at a construction company supervising projects greater than five ($5) million dollars

Other

• Required: Current driver's license to drive to and from the job sites. Heavy Equipment Operator certification.
• Preferred: OSHA (30 Hour Outreach) and CPR certification
