Job summary

Ameritech Contracting is seeking a seasoned construction supervisor to lead on-site activities, ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence while managing budgets and subcontractors. You will review drawings, coordinate trades, document progress daily, and support closeout procedures.

The role requires 7+ years in construction, OSHA, and strong leadership in fast-paced environments. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain security clearances for project sites as

Qualifications

  • 7+ years continuous construction experience.
  • Heavy boiler systems, HVAC, or high-pressure water/gas exposure.
  • Ability to read contract docs, drawings, specs and schedules.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license essential.
  • OSHA certification required.
  • USACE CQM certification or willingness to obtain.
  • USACE EM385 - 40 Hour or willingness to obtain.
  • CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Experience with Procore is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for site access.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure safety, schedule, quality and budget compliance.
  • Review and analyze project documents, drawings, specs, amendments and plans.
  • Coordinate inspections of sub-contractor work for contract compliance.
  • Identify issues, RFI needs, and provide practical solutions.
  • Oversee equipment use, material deliveries and manpower allocation.
  • Support closeout, punch lists and turnover procedures.
  • Document daily on-site activities with narrative and photos.
  • Hold regular tool talk meetings to align team on plans and specs.
  • Identify and communicate site safety concerns and enforce prevention plans.
  • Assist with schedule development, progress and look-ahead reports.
  • Occasionally handle tasks outside the normal scope.

Job description

We are looking for true road warriors! Supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work and adherence to the budget meet all requirements of the contract documents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
  • Review and analyze all project construction documents including but not limited to drawings, specifications, amendments, accident prevention plan, quality control plan, and scope of work.
  • Coordinate and inspect sub-contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents including drawings, specifications, submittals, quality control, and safety requirements.
  • Identify issues, RFI needs, and field changes promptly with practical solutions.
  • Oversee equipment utilization, material deliveries, and manpower allocation.
  • Support project closeout, punch list management, and turnover procedures.
  • Document daily on-site activities and progress including labor, work performed, inspections, deliveries, delays, weather conditions - with narrative and photos.
  • Coordinate and hold regular "tool talk" meetings to ensure project is on schedule and subcontractors understand the project plans and specifications.
  • Identify and communicate site safety concerns, conditions, and problems.
  • Implement and enforce accident prevention plans.
  • Assist with schedule development and updates, progress reports, and look ahead reports.
  • Occasionally take on tasks outside the normal scope of your job.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 7+ years continuous experience in construction industry or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Heavy experience working with boiler systems, HVAC and/or high-pressure water or gas.
  • Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license as it is essential to the performing job duties
  • OSHA certification.
  • USACE CQM Certification or willing to obtain.
  • USACE EM385 - 40 Hour or willing to obtain.
  • CPR & First Aid Certificate
  • Experience with Procore desired.
  • Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision and exercise discretion and judgment regarding matter of significance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for assigned projects site access.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) lbs.

The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
