Job summary

JGM is seeking traveling Journeyman Welders to join field construction teams across the country. This 100% travel role involves welding, fit-up, and ironwork on active industrial sites, requiring experience in field environments and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include welding in multiple positions, reading drawings and weld symbols, and passing welder tests. Per diem and travel support are available, with opportunities for long-term field work across projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of structural steel welding experience, preferably in field construction.
• Ability to pass JGM and project weld tests.
• Experience with SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• AWS D1.1 structural welding experience.
• Ability to read structural drawings, weld symbols, and connection details.
• Willing and able to travel 100%, including extended assignments away from home.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
• Comfortable working at heights and using fall-protection systems.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel welding on beams, columns, connections, and other structural members in accordance with project specifications and AWS requirements.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as required.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, erection drawings, weld symbols, and connection details.
• Set up and operate welding equipment with appropriate electrodes and settings.
• Inspect weld quality and perform repairs as needed under QC oversight.
• Travel between project sites as assignments require.
