Job summary

Crossland Construction in Columbus, KS is seeking hardworking individuals for structural steel installation on active job sites. You will set up hoisting equipment, rigging, signaling, and guide steel members into position as part of a crew.

Candidates should be comfortable with physical labor, heights, outdoor conditions, and occasional travel. A drug screen and background check are required; join a team that values safety, camaraderie, and hands-on building of lasting structures.

Qualifications

• Physically demanding role with lifting up to 70 pounds, and outdoor work.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
• Team-oriented with strong camaraderie on a crew.
• Drug screen and criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Installs rigging from steel members to hoist hook; may become certified rigger.
• Signals hoisting equipment operator as certified signal person.
• Guides members into position using tag lines or hands from a ladder or lift.
• Pulls, pushes, or pries steel members into position and aligns holes.
• Bolts/ welds members; verifies alignment with plumb or level tools.
• Works with others on construction projects; maintains safety standards.
