Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is hiring a Station Electrician to perform construction, maintenance, testing, and inspection of energized and de-energized generation, transmission, and distribution facilities. Qualifications

• Associate degree or military tech equivalent in electrical/industrial maintenance.
• Recent experience as a Station Electrician or equivalent in a utility/contractor role preferred.
• Must be available for overtime and travel >50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, and inspection of energized or de-energized electrical facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate restoration of service.
• Read prints and select appropriate drawings for work.
• Operate test equipment and inspect transformers, circuit breakers, substations, and related systems.
• Install conduit, cable, and electrical components; climb structures and operate lifting equipment.
