Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate's degree or 48 semester hours, or pass ACT WorkKeys.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Demonstrated success in relevant work experience.
• Ability to work in a demanding, stressful environment.
• Clear oral and written communication with students, parents and others.

Responsibilities

• Support the special education teacher in delivering instructional activities.
• Assist with small group instruction and material preparation.
• Assist with student toileting, feeding, and mobility needs as required.
• Manage classroom records related to attendance, grades, and behavior.
• Support safety and supervision on buses and field trips.
• Engage families to encourage participation in the special education program.
