Job summary

HKA Enterprises in Tulsa, OK seeks a skilled Stick Welder to join our team on infrastructure projects. You will interpret blueprints and welding symbols to join, fabricate, repair, and reinforce metal components, including lighting poles and transmission towers. Travel about 90% is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of SMAW welding experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, specs and schematics.
  • Travel approximately 90% of the time.
  • Work at heights and in elevated areas, including from a man basket.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding using the SMAW/Stick process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specs, welding symbols, diagrams and schematics.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment according to project specs.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and code compliance.
  • Identify and correct welding defects and perform weld tests.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain welding machines, cables, leads and grinders.
  • Keep accurate records of welding activities and completed work.
