Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a Lead Fitter/Welder for our Tulsa, OK plant. You’ll use jigs and fixtures to lay out pieces, then weld with manual, semi-automatic or automatic processes and inspect for conformance to specs.

You’ll lead a team of welders, perform complex repairs, and ensure quality while maintaining safety and records. Requires 4+ years, Flux Core experience, and certifications for horizontal/vertical welds.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of welding experience
• Flux Core welding experience
• Certified to perform horizontal and vertical welds
• Ability to perform multi-pass welds
• Ability to perform circumferential welds
• Maintain 90% UT pass rate
• Basic understanding of oxy-fuel/plasma burning
• Basic understanding of carbon arc
• Maintain good attendance

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of welders
• Repair welds
• Assist with completion of tasks to meet deadlines
• Apply welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts according to layouts and work orders using manual, automatic, or semi-automatic welding equipment
• Perform complex repairs
• Weld clips and hardware
• Perform full penetration welds to weld ends to poles or channels
• Operate grinding equipment
• May train lower levels
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
• Maintain quality and efficiency
• Observe all standard safety practices
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Perform other duties as assigned

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is hiring Lead Fitters/Welders for our plant in Tulsa, OK. As a Lead Fitter/Welder, you’ll use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders. You’ll then use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. The Lead Fitter/Welder also inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance on equipment.

What you'll do:

• Perform complex repairs

• Perform full penetration (such as slip joint) welds to weld ends to poles or channels
• Operate grinding equipment
• May train lower levels
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
• Maintain quality and efficiency
• Observe all standard safety practices
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience
• Flux Core experience
• Certified to perform horizontal and vertical welds
• Ability to perform multi-pass welds
• Ability to perform "C" (circumferential) welds
• Qualify as a flat welder
• Ability to maintain 90% pass rate on UT inspection
• Basic understanding of Oxy Fuel/Plasma burning
• Basic understanding of Carbon Arcing
• Ability to maintain good attendance
