Job Summary

THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE 100% TRAVEL TO VARIOUS COLOCATION DATA CENTER SITES.

The Department Manager is responsible for supervising and directing the work activities of their respective team. All aspects of the assigned department, including staffing, material and financial management, customer care and delivery, must be carried out efficiently to achieve company goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline, and discharge department staff as needed.
  • Manage all human resource issues and provide performance recommendations.
  • Guide and mentor staff to meet departmental goals.
  • Distribute workload, plan, monitor and maintain project profitability.
  • Manage scopes of work that may include structured cable, audio‑visual, security, life safety, estimating or BIM.
  • Participate in and facilitate the bid process.
  • Manage quality and safety issues on customer work and act as company liaison for customer representatives.
  • Create, develop and implement account process improvements.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years supervisory or managerial experience; 5 years in telecommunications or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
  • Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, reading, writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and project documents.
  • Ability to travel within branch or regional territory as required.
  • Must possess a company–sponsored American Express Card and meet minimum driving standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, define scope, create task lists and drive completion.
