Job summary

Westmor Industries is seeking a Traveling Technician to service a range of petroleum equipment at customer sites nationwide. The role emphasizes hands-on repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance.

You will maintain DOT-compliant records, support startup of terminal equipment, and perform warranty work and inspections. The position requires independence, a clean driving record, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• HS graduation or equivalent required; trade school training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain CDL with hazmat endorsement on hire.
• Experience with mechanical repair, troubleshooting, and analytical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Service, calibrate, commission, troubleshoot and repair meters, pumps, registers, and other petroleum equipment.
• Maintain required performance records, and accurate DOT logs/paperwork.
• Start up and service tanker load rack equipment, ethanol skids, and other petroleum equipment.
• Install and repair grounding and overfill prevention systems.
• Warranty work, annual inspections, and emergency service work.
• Equipment testing to check operation.
• 90% overnight weekday travel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

A Traveling Technician is responsible for completing the following tasks:

• Service, calibrate, commission, troubleshoot and repair a variety of meters, pumps, registers, and other petroleum equipment
• Maintain required performance and maintenance records, and accurate DOT logs/paperwork
• Start up and service tanker truck terminal load rack equipment, ethanol skids, and other petroleum equipment
• Install and repair grounding and overfill prevention systems
• Warranty work, annual inspections, and emergency service work
• Equipment testing to check operation
• 90% overnight weekday travel
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation

• The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or equivalent; Tech/trade school training is a plus
• Outstanding driving record with respect to observing driving regulations and federal/state/local motor vehicle laws
• Required to have a valid State Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license with hazmat endorsement upon hire
• Experience with mechanical repair, troubleshooting, and an analytical aptitude
