Job summary

Anne Arundel County Department of Health seeks a 10-month substitute health aide to work in schools countywide. Under a school nurse's supervision, incumbents may provide basic health tasks, assist with medications, and handle clerical duties. Travel to various school locations is required with mileage reimbursed.

A high school diploma (or GED) is required, plus MBON Nursing Assistant or Geriatric Nursing Certification and a valid Maryland driver’s license. Interviews follow required testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must possess MBON Nursing Assistant Certificate or Geriatric Nursing Certification.
• Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Substitute in schools throughout the county as needed due to absences or vacancies of health assistants or special needs aides.
• Travel mileage to locations is reimbursed at the county rate.
• May perform first aid and administer medications as delegated by the school nurse.
• May include other health tasks and clerical work; hours may fluctuate.
