Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing is seeking an experienced, full-time Safety Manager in Virginia to lead health and safety programs across our field operations. This role requires travel and offers weekly pay, PTO, parental leave, and a 401(k) with company match.

You will develop health and safety plans, enforce policies, train staff, inspect equipment, investigate incidents, report on safety metrics, and drive a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Safety Manager in utility construction or telecommunications.
• Five years safety-related experience in utility construction and/or telecom.
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of healthy and safety
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
