Job summary

United Utility Services, a leading electric utility contractor, is seeking an experienced Traveling Site Safety Representative- HDD / Open Cut Pipeline to oversee safety on nationwide pipeline construction projects. You will mentor crews, enforce OSHA standards, and partner with operations to minimize risk.

This role requires strong communication, field leadership, and the ability to travel extensively across the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of safety experience in pipeline construction, HDD, or open cut operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and PHMSA standards.
• Proven ability to conduct trenching, excavation, and confined space incident investigations.
• OSHA 500 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HDD and open cut activities for safety compliance.
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Ensure OSHA and company safety standards across crews.
• Lead safety trainings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
• Maintain safety documentation and records.
• Provide on-site safety leadership across high-risk operations.
• Educate and coach field personnel on safety best practices.
• Serve as primary on-site safety contact.
