Position Summary

Come join us at Southland Industries as a Safety Coordinator. In this role, you'll assist the Division Safety Program in enforcing and regulating all safety procedures to ensure that Southland Industries meets all safety requirements in the field by managing and coordinating all division safety activities.

What You’ll Do

• Tour and inspect job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Report concerns and ensure standards are met by coordinating safety programs.
• Document safety inspections, cite dangerous areas, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation, review job hazard logs, and take necessary actions.
• Provide emergency response when needed.
• Investigate accidents and injuries, and report to regulatory agencies.
• Assist in developing and facilitating employee safety training.
• Train less-experienced safety staff as needed.
• Use your judgment to make day-to-day decisions, consulting your manager on significant matters.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Knowledge of health and safety management systems and OSHA standards.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and consult with your manager on impactful decisions.

What You Bring To The Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10/30/40, OSHA 500, CHST, or ASP are preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
