Job summary

Aggregate Resource Industries, Inc. is seeking a Rock Drill Operator to safely run hydraulic drills across mining, quarry, solar pre-drilling, and development projects nationwide in the United States.

The role requires a strong safety mindset, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions. Travel is extensive, with long shifts and a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in rock drilling or heavy equipment operation in mining, construction, or related industry is preferred.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred; company will assist if not held.
• MSHA Experienced Miner Training preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude for maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting of drilling equipment.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record (last 3 years).
• ATF background check compliance for explosives handling.
• Pre-employment drug test and physical; ARI has a zero-tolerance policy for drugs.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods.
• Must have physical stamina to lift up to 75 pounds and stay on feet for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Drill operation: operate hydraulic drills on mines, quarries, and development sites.
• Equipment maintenance: perform daily checks and basic upkeep of equipment.
• Pre-operation inspections: complete workplace exams per policy.
• Drill pattern execution: follow patterns laid out by Project Managers.
• Hole quality assurance: inspect and measure drill holes to spec.
• Progress communication: provide updates to Project Managers and report delays.
• Technology use: utilize Strayos Fielder app to document drill patterns.
• Team meetings: participate in weekly Drilling Department meetings.
• Blasting support: assist with blasting operations when required.
• Worksite housekeeping: maintain a safe, clean work area.
• Additional duties: perform other tasks to support drilling ops.
