Job summary

Barton Malow is hiring a Traveling Project Engineer to join our automotive team on manufacturing projects across Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee. This entry-level, field-based role provides technical support to the project team, manages project documentation, and helps drive day-to-day execution alongside superintendents and field crews.

You'll support QA/QC, attend meetings, and maintain drawings and closeout documentation while learning construction sequencing and field workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel and relocate between project sites as required.
• One to three years of relevant construction experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Walk the project site to capture safety observations, progress photos, and identify issues.
• Assist the superintendent with daily field execution.
• Learn construction sequencing, material placement, and field workflows with crews and managers.
• Support QA/QC activities, quantity take-offs, and site logistics planning using our digital platforms.
• Prepare, track, and distribute RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence.
• Attend project meetings and record minutes and action items.
