Job summary

CITI, Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks a Control System Application Engineer to design, develop, maintain and implement PLC and HMI systems for industrial automation projects.

You will travel to client sites in the Carolinas to commission, test and support systems, collaborating with engineering, project management and field technicians to deliver reliable automation solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• 0–2 years relevant PLC experience or 4+ years in PLC-driven process controls.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel locally to project sites.

Responsibilities

• PLC programming to control industrial machinery and processes.
• System integration of PLCs with HMIs, SCADA, and field devices.
• Create organized technical documentation and user guides for clients and team members.
• Assist FAT and perform simulations to validate PLC programs and ensure safety and quality.
• Travel to client sites for on-site commissioning of PLC systems, overseeing installation, startup, and testing.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems during commissioning, operation, or maintenance, including electrical circuits and networks.
• Provide client support for control-system related issues and ongoing system maintenance.
