Lane & Associates Family Dentistry seeks a Traveling Orthodontic Assistant to support the orthodontist across multiple locations, including Hamlet, Southern Pines, and Fayetteville. You will provide chairside assistance, maintain operatory readiness, and ensure a clean, welcoming patient environment.

The role requires a Chairside Dental Assistant certificate and NC X-Ray Certification, plus reliable transportation to assigned offices.

Qualifications

• Chairside Dental Assistant certificate required.
• Valid NC X-Ray Certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation to assigned offices required.

Responsabilités

• Assist the orthodontist in delivering high-quality patient care.
• Reinforce oral hygiene and at-home care instructions for patients with orthodontic appliances.
• Seat and prepare patients for treatment, including untying and removing arch wires.
• Clean and disinfect operatories after each procedure.
• Prepare and organize tray setups for upcoming procedures.
• Monitor operatory supply levels and communicate restocking needs.
• Sterilize instruments per safety and infection control protocols.
• Expose and develop radiographs.
• Utilize the iTero scanner for orthodontic records.
• Take impressions and pour dental models as needed for appliances.
• Track Invisalign cases to ensure readiness for appointments.
• Maintain dental supply inventory systems and OSHA compliance.

Now Hiring: Orthodontic Assistant- Traveling to Hamlet, Southern Pines, and Fayetteville. OFF on Fridays

The Traveling Orthodontic Assistant is responsible for supporting the Orthodontist across designated practice locations (Garner, Fuquay Broad, Cary Tryon, Durham Miami) by providing exceptional chairside assistance, maintaining operatory readiness, monitoring inventory, and ensuring a clean, welcoming patient environment. This position works under the direct clinical supervision of the orthodontist and plays a key role in delivering a smooth, efficient, and positive patient experience.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Daily/Weekly/Monthly duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the orthodontist in delivering high-quality patient care.
• Reinforce oral hygiene and at-home care instructions to patients with orthodontic appliances.
• Seat and prepare patients for treatment, including untying and removing arch wires.
• Clean and disinfect operatories following each procedure.
• Prepare and organize tray setups for upcoming procedures.
• Monitor operatory supply levels and communicate restocking needs.
• Sterilize instruments in accordance with safety and infection control protocols.
• Expose and develop radiographs.
• Utilize the iTero scanner for orthodontic records.
• Take impressions and pour dental models as needed for appliances.
• Track and confirm receipt of Invisalign cases to ensure readiness for appointments.
• Maintain dental supply inventory systems, lab tracking processes, and OSHA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
