Job summary

Houston Eye Associates seeks a floater ophthalmic assistant to travel between locations in the greater Houston area, performing basic to complex preliminary eye tests under the ophthalmologist supervision. You will meet patients, collect medical history, and prepare them for examination, with reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience working with ophthalmologists.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stock and maintain exam rooms; ensure cleanliness and readiness for procedures.
• Review patient charts for accuracy before exams; prepare patients for physician’s exam.
• Assist with in-office procedures and administer medications under physician direction.
• Assist with documentation, order tests, and manage patient communications as directed.
• Schedule and coordinate visits; support training of other staff.
