Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a traveling maintenance technician to support generation plants across Wisconsin. Responsibilities include mechanical, basic electrical, and control maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and routine inspections of equipment.

You will operate tools and equipment and log data to help sustain plant reliability and safety. The role requires journey-level skills in the mechanical trade, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Journey level in the mechanical trade.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Residents within 60 minutes of Columbia, Edgewater, Riverside or Madison.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing equipment and systems for the generation facility.
• Operates and/or obtains information from various mechanical and electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
• Uses machine tools and hand tools as required by job.
• Operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Performs various welding activities.
• Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and efficiency improvements by participating in continuous improvement activities.
• Follows established procedures and safety practices.
• Performs plant/shop housekeeping and related duties.
• Performs other duties similar or incidental to this position.
