Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical, basic electrical and control maintenance at the generation facility to which they are assigned.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and journey-level status in one of these trades: Journeyman Mechanic, Journeyman Millwright, or Journeyman Maintenance Technician. You will troubleshoot, repair, inspect equipment, operate tools and support safety and efficiency improvements as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, basic electrical and basic control maintenance for the generation facility.

Job Summary

Performs varied mechanical, basic electrical and basic control and instrument maintenance activities and other duties necessary to maintain the generation facility to which they are assigned.

What you will do

• Performs the mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
• Operates and/or obtains information from various mechanical and electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
• Is proficient in the use of machine tools and various hand powered tools as job needs dictate.
• Operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Performs various welding activities.
• Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
• Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
• Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

• Journey-level experience in a mechanical trade. Candidates must possess a valid state-issued Journeyman card in one of the following trades: Journeyman Mechanic, Journeyman Millwright, Journeyman Maintenance Technician. Applicants must provide proof of their journeyman status during the hiring process.

Pay Range

$54.01 - $56.22
