Job summary

Premier Early Childhood Education Partners is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to travel between Fuquay-Varina, Wake Forest, Garner, Apex, Clayton, and Cary to keep our centers safe and well-maintained for children and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of maintenance experience in commercial or residential settings, and ownership of tools. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and coordinate with vendors while ensuring safe work areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a commercial or residential setting.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to pass all background checks.
• Candidate must have own set of tools including drill, impact driver, various sizes of screwdrivers, hammer, electric meter, voltage detector, and wrenches.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, general repairs, and facility improvements to interior and exterior spaces.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot facility issues, completing repairs or coordinating with vendors as needed.
• Ensure all work areas are safe, clean, and secure, especially in child-accessible spaces.
• Utilize Service Channel to receive, track, and complete work orders.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with center staff, landlord, and vendors.
• Travel between sites to perform repairs, including minor plumbing, HVAC filter changes, painting, irrigation work, carpentry, electrical work, and more.
• Support the cleaning, prepping, and closing of swimming pools (if applicable).
• Responsibly handle chemicals and follow safety protocols.
• Provide suggestions for improvements in operational or energy efficiency.
