Job summary

Softrim LLC is seeking a Low-Voltage Field Technician based in Raleigh, NC, with 75-100% travel to commercial job sites nationwide. You will install and repair structured cabling, access control, surveillance, and networking systems, while following project plans and safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant low-voltage experience, read blueprints, and hold a valid driver’s license. Some overtime and travel are expected, with full-time, hourly compensation and benefits

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience.
  • Commercial/multi-family project experience preferred.
  • Able to read blueprints and install according to plans.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Osha-10 or equivalent certification preferred.
  • English fluency; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install and remove low-voltage cabling, including ethernet and fiber optic.
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test cables in various topologies.
  • Mount and connect low-voltage equipment (audio/visual, access control, surveillance, nurse call, networking).
  • Transport, store, and safely use tools and equipment.
  • Read blueprints and install per project plans.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate milestones and issues to management.
  • Ensure safety and OSHA compliance on site.
  • Maximize billable time and adhere to scheduling guidelines.
