Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, with potential to oversee a small crew. Role includes installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, and opportunities to learn low voltage, controls, process work, and fire alarm within Amteck.

The candidate should have 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments and be willing to work weekends and overtime. Growth and safety are core values at Amteck.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Own the tools required by company policy and use them to perform tasks.
• Willing to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction documents.
• Demonstrate a team-player mentality and safety focus.
• Aptitude to learn job-related material through instruction and observation.
• Participate in field training (on-the-job, classroom, or virtual).

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, and conductors.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read project specs, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small work areas from drawings, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
