Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) who will work under a Foreman or Superintendent and may lead a small crew. The role involves installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, plus opportunities to learn in other divisions such as low voltage and controls.

The J1 will measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit, terminate devices, and read project drawings while mentoring Helpers and Apprentices on site. Weekend overtime may be required as part of project schedules.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Owns required electrical tools as per policy.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends.
• Team-player with safe work habits.
• Ability to read basic construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Lay out small work areas from drawings and documents.
