Job summary
Confidential Employer is seeking a Traveling HVAC Commissioning Technician to perform startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems on new construction and retrofit projects. This role focuses on commercial rooftop units (RTUs) and occasionally split systems, ensuring proper installation and operation before turnover.
The position is travel-based, covering Atlanta and project sites, with a company-paid vehicle, tools, travel, and lodging.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC experience or commissioning/service work.
- Experience with rooftop units (RTUs).
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- EPA Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform startup and commissioning of RTUs, split systems, and heat pumps.
- Verify installation, wiring, airflow, and refrigerant charge.
- Conduct functional performance testing and measure system parameters.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues during startup.
- Prepare commissioning reports and record testing results.
