Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on hospitality renovation projects with travel across the United States. You will oversee safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and schedule from preconstruction through turnover, while maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations, including site safety, subcontractor coordination, quality control, progress, and site cleanliness.
• Work with the project manager during preconstruction to plan logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections, and project execution.
• Maintain an accurate project schedule with the project manager, address changes promptly, and keep work on track.
• Communicate clearly with the project team about site conditions, changes in scope, subcontractor performance, and risks to cost or schedule.
• Hold subcontractors and vendors accountable while treating them fairly and building productive working relationships.
• Support the growth of field team members and maintain a strong working relationship with the client throughout the project.
